About Me

I’m a lifelong player. I grew up in a rich musical environment in Ohio, and came to Austin in 2003 via upstate New York. Committed to professional growth, I’m always learning. I practice daily and take frequent advantage of classes and coaching.

I’m an almost-empty-nester with four grown children (plus a stellar daughter-in-law). In my spare time I enjoy walking, reading, swimming, travel, movies, and concerts.

I look forward to getting to know you.

Testimonials

  • "We have appreciated Ms. Martens' ability to move our son through his Suzuki books. He was struggling with fatigue and burnout before, and has made much more progress with Ms Martens!"

    - Angelica

  • "Ms. Jeni is so patient with my girls that are younger. My oldest started when she was 5 and as soon as my youngest turned 5 she wanted to take lessons from Ms. Jeni! She makes it fun for them with games and takes the time to listen to them. She really cares about all her students!"

    - C

  • "Jeni has been a wonderful teacher for both of my beginner students. Her knowledge of music, expertise as a teacher, and gentle demeanor have made our introduction to the word of string instrument playing very enjoyable!"
